New Information About Photography Classes! This fall I will be teaching at The Gathering Place in Peachtree City -- one class September 17, one class October 15, and one November 19. Also, I will be teaching two six-week sessions at the Fayette Senior Services Center on Friday mornings beginning September 5. All classes are 10 to noon. I am available on a limited basis for private lessons.
Digital Photography Classes I have been teaching photography since March, 2006. Many of my students have gone on to enter, and place, in contests, start their own photography business, join the Fayette Photo Club, and get more enjoyment out of photography and using their camera.
Below is a listing of the classes that I teach. If you have something special in mind for a lecture -- contact me and we can work together to make the a lecture specific to your group. The first two (Intro to Digital and Photoshop Elements) are presented in a series of classes. The other workshops are one session only classes.
Intro to Digital Photography Workshop -- Learn to use your
digital camera! Topics covered include, basic composition, taking photos of people,
simple lighting, black & white and macro photography. Also learn about different types of photography equipment
(like the Lensbaby selective-focus lens) and how it can enhance your photography. You will see 'what I carry in my bag.' Bring your camera, manual, and a couple photos to the class. Photoshop Elements for Beginners -- Learn to use Photoshop Elements to enhance your digital images. Use this program to restore old cherished family photos. Learn black and white conversion — even adding or deleting a person from a photo. Restoration, Duplication, Preservation of Cherished Photos -- Using your camera and computer you will learn how to create a digital file of any photo and make the corrections to repair contrast, color, tears, scratches and more. Also, learn how to preserve the original photos. Create a "Family Tree" Christmas Tree -- Take old and new family photos -- turn them into Christmas
tree ornaments -- and you have your family tree on your Christmas tree. Using techniques from the restoration class
you can create photo ornaments easily.
Floral Photography featuring the Lensbaby, Selective-Focus
Lens -- See what beautiful photos you can take just using flowers in your yard or from a vase in your home as the
subject. Get up close and personal with creative macro photos. See and try the Lensbaby selective-focus lens for
dramatic photos that are beyond your average floral shot.
The Next Step for Your Photography -- Taking
your hobby one step further. This class walks you through putting together a portfolio and developing a plan for promoting
your photography. You will learn about intellectual property, releases, introducing your work to galleries and more.
